Caroline's Adventures Underwater

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Caroline. She had tons of adventures under water. But one day, she felt like getting a diving board and digging a hole and filling the hole with water. She would put the diving board next to the pond and jump into the pond, while her sister Charlotte sailed toy boats on the pond.

"Do you want a big hole, a small hole, or a medium hole?" her father, Chris, asked.

"I want a medium hole," said Caroline. "I want to jump into the pond. I want to jump into the pond. I want a diving board, too," said Caroline.

"I'm sorry," said Chris. "We don't have enough money to get a diving board, but I can build you one. How's that? Happy now?"

"That's fine," said Caroline. "Maybe in the summer you can get me a diving board."

"Summer?" said her father. "We need to save our money in the summer, because we're not going to school anymore and we need to save our money."

"Do you really?" said Caroline. "If you do, I'm furious at you."

"I do mean that," said her father.

But before Caroline could even say "Then I'm furious at you," her mother came into the room.

Her mother's name was Rachel. "Do you think it would be okay if we started Caroline with swimming lessons?" her mother asked.

"I think that would be fine," said Chris. "But you know, it's starting to be summer, and I just talked to Caroline about needing to save our money during the summer."

"Caroline really loves under water and swimming," said her mama.

So, Caroline went to swimming lessons, and that is all she did until the end of January.
